Training, Life and Talking With Legends.

I’ve kind of neglected writing my blog in the past week. I’d love to say I’ve been too busy but I just haven’t felt like it if I’m being honest. I’m not a natural writer and I don’t always know what I should even write about. It’s been an interesting new year to say the least. My mom tested positive for Covid last week but has been handling it like a champ so I want to thank everyone for the prayers and good vibes.
A few weeks back I did my first ever podcast on my friend Jordan’s show The Platform Podcast, please give it a listen it’s really good! I had a great time and then a day or two later Mike Mahler contacted me on Instagram and asked me if I wanted to do an episode of his YouTube show. I said yes without a second thought. When I first got into kettlebells he was one of the first people I admired bedsides Pat Flynn and Geoff Neupert. I came from a traditional weightlifting background and his 5 x 5 kettlebell program made sense to me. I was honored and surprised that he had asked me. We had talked briefly a few times on IG DM’s and we follow each other so we aren’t complete strangers but I was still shocked. I was really nervous going into it but he’s an awesome guy and it was like just having a conversation with a friend. Later that day I went on Instagram and Dan John was doing his swings live feed and I was talking to him for a little bit too and it just blows my mind that he knows me and Mike Mahler and Pat Flynn all know me. I think the biggest take away from this is don’t let fear hold you back from trying new things. This all happened for me because I took a chance and started posting my videos on Reddit and Instagram and worked hard on my training and diet and didn’t let fear get the best of me. Sometimes you need to take a leap of faith and put yourself out there or you never know the opportunity you’ll miss out on. I’m glad I didn’t give into fear. My fear was what people would say and you know what, who cares? I’m doing all I can to better myself so let them say what they will.
In training news I’m coming into the home stretch of Joe Daniels 8 week Kettlebell Only Muscle again program and I loved it. It’s opened my eyes to the world of Kettlebell sport and I just got his new intro to kettlebell sport program and I can’t wait to start. I also blame Jordan and his podcast for making me fall for it. link to Mike Mahler Show:
